Craftsman and Coordinator of Artisans Warishitou-El Milagro Communities, mother head of household of 4 children, Rosinia began to make handicrafts at 17 years old. She recalls that at time her mother went out on the road to show her Mochilas to the “gringos” (who came to work in the coal mines), which at that time were settled in the region, and sold as “hot bread”. With the profit of her work she has helped her mother raise her eight younger siblings.

Today Rosinia, has 4 children and one grand daughter . Thanks to her work as an artisan, the oldest is a lawyer, the second is studying at a University in Barranquilla and the two younger ones are still in school in Maicao. Rosinia is an expert “one-strand” weaver, as the most demanding technique is called. She, besides weaving for the Fusion collection, supervises with a ‘clinical eye’ the quality of the work of the other artisan who weave for Waré Crafts and does not let pass even the slightest error.

In 2009, Rosinia suffered a traffic accident that led to her having more than 8 reconstructive surgeries in less than three years. After the accident, she lost mobility in his left hand and arm, but recovered six months later, despite the doctors considered it impossible; simply because she needed to be knitting again. Rosinia takes between two and four weeks to make a mochilas and for some reason they likes to knit two bags at a time.
