LUZ MARÍA BOURIYÜ
Luz María confesses that she was not very interested in following the Wayuu tradition of weaving; and when her grandmother and her mother taught her, she didn´t pay attention at all.
But two years ago, she began to realize how this art could help her, and started weaving looking to generate more income to support her family and her 9-year-old daughter, “Dayana”. Thus, without wanting to, she felt in love with the art of knitting, because it helps her to feel calm and happy. Therefore, it is she now who pursues her daughter to learn to weave
During the day, she works in an office. At night, she weaves until her eyes allow her to do so.
